WELCOME TO REP SEASON EXPECTATIONS PAGE
Important Information for Players Trying Out for AMBA Rep Team.
- If you are interested in trying out for one of our Rep Teams, here’s what you need to know.
- Visit AMBA Offseason Evaluation Program for 13U and 15U AA/AAA teams page for more details.
Commitment to Spring and Summer Seasons
Rep teams will play together through both the Spring and Summer seasons.
Please carefully consider the time commitment required to be a part of these teams. Players must be fully committed to both the Spring AND Summer seasons. Spring training starts in February and the season runs through to August long weekend, and may extend beyond if the team qualifies for Westerns or Nationals.
Attendance Requirements
Players are expected to attend all practices and games. If players have extended holiday plans during this period, they may not be eligible for team selection. Families can expect a commitment of 4 days per week from April to July, and 4-6 practices/games/tournaments per week during July. Players and families can expect to travel during the season to Vancouver Island and the Interior if selected to play on a rep team.
Playing Structure for 13U and 15U Teams
The 13U AA team follows a single-season fair play format. However, if you’re considering trying out for our 13U AAA, 15U AA or 15U AAA teams, please note these tiers follow a “9-man ball play structure”. This means substitution rules will follow the "bat 9, play 9" format, which differs from 13U AA, where all 12 players participate without substitution restrictions.
Registration for Tryouts and 2025 Season
Players must first register for the Offseason Evaluation Program, which is a separate process from regular league registration. Once the 2025 season registration opens, players must also register for the 2025 season to be eligible to play AMBA baseball in 2025.
Rep Team Fees
In addition to regular league registration fees, there will be additional Rep Team fees. These fees vary based on the number of tournaments, travel, and team swag. Please prepare for the extra financial investment that comes with rep level baseball compared to Spring (House) level baseball.
